About Us

Changes are not always welcomed wholeheartedly but the Lord has from time to time caused His people to face tumultuous situations so as to help them grow. The year 1995 was such a one. No one had foreseen the start of an assembly but such were the unwelcome situations that a small flock was forced to congregate in a separate place. The worship service was held on the first Sunday of the seventh month of that year (or to be more precise the 2nd of July 1995) in the drawing room of the house of Mrs Dorcas Sampath Kumar near St Patrick’s High School.

The Lord added to the small flock, which grew not only in numbers but also in spiritual maturity. Soon the place was insufficient to accommodate the growing numbers and in answer to prayers the Lord opened the heart of late Mr. John Wesley, who allowed us to use his place near St Mary’s Centenary Junior College for the worship service. It wasn’t an ideal situation but was so much akin to the gatherings of the early church and the bonhomie and oneness made up for all the physical discomforts.

With the Lord increasing the number of believers, it was time to once again move on. This time, the Lord helped us find favour with the management of the St. John’s Junior College, Secunderabad. And for the first time, we had a hall for the worship service and this was in the year 1997. But that turned out to be insufficient and soon tents had to be erected outside to accommodate the people.

In the year 2000, the Emmanuel House of Worship Trust was formed with the elders including the Pastor as its trustees.

Two years later we were once again on the look out for a place of worship. This time we had to move to a function hall (Secunderabad Function Hall) for a couple of months. But the good Lord, in his infinite mercies, opened the doors of the St Mary’s Degree College and since then we have been gathering there for the Sunday service.

The growth continued unabated and the leadership thought it prudent to start another fellowship at Nacharam. In October 2003, a service was started at the St Peter’s Model School and there are over 100 believers who congregate every Sunday.
But there was still pressure on the Secunderabad assembly as the congregation continued to grow. This, yet again, forced the leadership to start another fellowship and this was done in August 2005 at Mallikarjun Nagar. Here too about 100 people gather for worship. Through it all we have seen the might hand of our Lord leading, guiding and increasing the congregation. All glory to Him alone.
